CNC Machinist

Position: CNC MachinistLocation: RedditchSalary: £14.50 – £15.50 per hour + Shift Allowance (£2.20 – £6.10 per hour extra)

Working Hours:

• Weekday Nights: Monday – Thursday (20:00 – 06:00) – £84 weekly shift allowance
• Weekend Days: Friday – Sunday (05:30 – 18:00)

Overview

An established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their machining team across various shifts. Reporting to the Machine Shop Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing tooling in accordance with precise engineering drawings and maintaining tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes, including Fanuc, Siemens, and Mazak systems
• Polish components to a 320-grit finish
• Perform manual compensation and bench work accurately
• Service, repair, and maintain tools as part of planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Respond promptly and effectively to breakdowns and production issues

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience in setting and operating CNC machinery
• Background in hot metal or heavy manufacturing preferred
• Confident communicator and effective team player
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with precision
• Proficient in using precision measuring equipment (micrometres, height gauges, imperial and metric units)
• Self-motivated, with excellent attention to detail and initiative
