Associate Director, Cyber Security Operations Engineer

Overview

In this role you lead the security operations engineering function within Deloitte’s Cyber Defence team, shaping the delivery of Detection & Response services for clients. You’ll guide engineering efforts, drive innovation, and mentor a team while building strong client relationships. You will apply advanced analytics and data models to improve threat detection and response, contributing to Deloitte’s growth in cyber security services. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership position within a globally connected technology practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the security operations engineering function for client engagements
• Act as technical leader for the Security Operations platform and tooling
• Manage and grow the engineering team and technology stack
• Drive innovation and develop new content from observed security activity
• Advance data models and analytics (big data, ML/AI) to support threat hunting
• Develop and maintain client relationships and understand their needs
• Contribute to support contract development and renewals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as trusted advisor

Key requirements

• Strong experience leading security engineering teams
• Solid understanding of Security Operations and SOCs
• Experience building Security Operating Platforms
• Extensive experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR and data tooling
• Experience with Google SecOps (Chronicle/Simplify), CrowdStrike, Wiz, Cribl, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR
• Government security clearance or willingness to undergo vetting
• Strong commercial awareness and supplier/third-party management
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Ability to balance priorities and manage multiple stakeholders
