Associate – Catastrophic Loss Team

Overview

In this role you will join DWF’s renowned Catastrophic Loss team in Manchester to manage high-value multi-track personal injury cases for insurers and corporate clients. You will influence liability, quantum, and litigation strategy, draft and prepare court materials, and drive settlements while building strong client relationships. The role offers progression within a high-performing, supportive environment and a hybrid office model. You’ll work on complex RTAs, EL, and PL matters with case values up to £20 million, contributing to the firm’s mission of delivering outstanding service.

Responsibilities

• Handle a multi-track personal injury and catastrophic loss caseload, supporting senior team members on high-value complex cases
• Advise clients on liability, quantum, and litigation strategy
• Draft documents, prepare for court, and negotiate settlements
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery
• Stay updated on developments in catastrophic injury and insurance law

Key requirements

• PQE 3–7 years
• Experience handling or assisting on defendant multi-track Catastrophic Loss and Personal Injury cases (RTAs, EL, PL)
• Experience with claim values from £150,000 to £20 million is advantageous
• Strong technical knowledge of personal injury law, liability, and quantum assessment
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
