Job Description:To work within the Maintenance Team who are responsible for preventative maintenance on machines and equipment as well as responding to emergency machine break downs throughout the plant; involvement with new design, installation and movements of existing machines; overhaul and repair of machines and equipment. Ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose. To provide an effective source and effective and prompt service in diagnosis, repair and rebuild of site plant, production equipment, premises and services ensuring that objectives/targets for cost, quality and timeliness are achieved.Key Responsibilities:Support all areas of the site including plant, machines, equipment and services to ensure continuous operationRepair and servicing of mechanical systems including retrofit and upgradeServicing technologies to ensure safe operation and fitness for purposeRebuilding equipment, machines, and systems as part of continuous developmentKnowledge of both Hydraulic & Pneumatic control systemsBreakdown management and recoveryTechnology and equipment relocation. installation and commissioningWorking collaboratively with other teams on projects related to the job functionAssist with mechanical design and fabrication of plant machinery and test equipment Carry out related duties as required by department supervision.Working to very fine tolerancesSkills / Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications required:Fully indentured apprenticeship in a mechanical disciplinePrevious experience with manufacturing technologies, machines (including CNC processes) chemical plants, site and facilities managementAble to work alone and as part of a teamUnderstanding and interact with basic computer driven software packages and re-porting systemsPositive attitude, team player and good communication skillsPrevious experience of working in a busy manufacturing environmentCommunicates clearly, concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing, sharing information with confidence, enthusiasm and with an impact that promotes understanding
