Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 24/7 Compressed Shift Rota (Alternating Days/Nights, 12-hour shifts)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Field Service Engineer to join a leading global organisation specialising in advanced materials engineering solutions for the semiconductor and display manufacturing industries
As a Lead Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for advanced hardware platforms while guiding a rotating crew of field technicians and engineers to hit strict safety, quality, and tool uptime targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Leadership & Operations: Lead day-to-day operations for a rotating engineering team to hit safety and tool uptime targets. You are responsible for leading the “pass down” (shift handovers) to pass technical data accurately between incoming and outgoing crews.
- Toolset Ownership & Maintenance: Act as the ultimate technical authority for assigned semiconductor equipment platforms (e.g., CMP, Dry Etch, CVD, or PVD systems). Direct both preventative and corrective maintenance schedules.
- On-Site Technical Escalation: Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and deep technical troubleshooting for “High Value Problems” (HVPs)the complex mechanical, plasma, vacuum, or gas system faults that tier-1 and tier-2 field engineers cannot solve alone.
- Resource & Manpower Coordination: Manage shift rosters, coordinate unexpected absence coverage, and balance team assignments based on current tool priorities.
- Customer Interface: Act as the immediate on-site point of contact for the fab client’s manufacturing team to communicate tool status, recovery ETAs, and engineering modifications.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelors degree (BS) or equivalent in Electronic, Mechanical, Materials Science, or Automation Engineering.
- Experience: Generally 6+ years of technical service or operations experience inside a high-volume manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for semiconductor fabs.
- Leadership Capabilities: Proven experience managing technical teams, navigating complex matrix tracking metrics, and driving strict EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) compliance protocols within a process-driven environment.
- Rota Flexibility: Full flexibility to work the 24/7 alternating day/night compressed shift pattern.
What We Offer
- Highly competitive base salary commensurate with senior-level engineering experience.
- Substantial shift premium/allowance for continuous 24/7 rota coverage.
- Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, corporate pension scheme, and performance-based bonuses.
- Clear career progression paths within a globally leading tech organization.
