Insights & Analytics Director – Claims

Overview

In this role you will lead analytics, data and AI initiatives for AXIS Claims, turning priorities into data products and capabilities that improve outcomes and efficiency. You partner with Claims leadership to drive measurable business value, overseeing delivery of dashboards, reporting and AI-enabled solutions. You’ll align Claims analytics with Reserving and other functions, promoting scalable self-service insights and responsible AI adoption. This is a strategic, leadership-heavy role shaping how Claims uses data to drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary Data & Analytics partner for Claims leadership and translate priorities into a portfolio of analytics initiatives
• Own the delivery of Claims-focused reporting, dashboards, analytics solutions and AI capabilities
• Evolve Claims MI from operational reporting to predictive and prescriptive insights
• Promote self-service analytics and scalable data products for Claims teams
• Collaborate with Reserving to align analytics priorities and share performance insights
• Identify and enable AI, automation and innovative technologies across Claims
• Link analytics initiatives to business outcomes and track value delivered
• Build relationships with senior Claims leaders and communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences
• Lead and develop a team of Insights & Analytics professionals aligned to Claims
• Ensure governance and data quality standards are met across solutions

Key requirements

• 10+ years in analytics, BI, data or AI
• At least 3 years leading teams
• Experience partnering with Claims, Insurance Operations, Actuarial or Reserving in insurance
• 3+ years in the insurance or reinsurance industry
• Proven ability to translate business strategy into practical analytics and AI solutions
• Experience delivering measurable outcomes through analytics, data products or AI
• Direct management of a team of at least 6 people including leads or seniors
• Strong understanding of insurance claims processes and performance measures
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to operate in a complex, matrix organization
• Experience deploying AI or machine learning in production preferred (not required)
• Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science or equivalent preferred (highly desirable)
