Overview

As Planning Director in our London team, drive strategic planning leadership and client growth within a respected planning and development consultancy. You will manage a diverse project portfolio, shape the client portfolio, and mentor a high-performing team. This hybrid role offers autonomy, cross-functional collaboration, and a clear path to influence the firm’s expansion across London and the South East. You will leverage an existing network to win work and deliver expert planning advice on high-profile schemes, while shaping the office’s growth trajectory.

Responsibilities

• Lead a varied portfolio of planning projects across multiple sectors
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
• Generate new business opportunities and support growth of the London office
• Provide strategic planning guidance throughout development processes
• Manage planning applications, appeals, and stakeholder engagement
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the leadership team

Key requirements

• MRTPI qualified with significant experience in consultancy or private sector
• Strong track record of winning work and building lasting client relationships
• Existing client base and ability to generate new business
• Excellent commercial awareness and leadership capabilities
