A leading and well-established residential groundworks contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple new-build housing developments across the Midlands region.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the regions most respected groundworks contractors, with a strong pipeline of secured work and long-standing relationships with major housebuilders.
The company operates from offices in Worcestershire, Leicestershire and Gloucestershire and delivers high-volume residential groundworks packages including roads, sewers, drainage and plot works.
This is a senior operational role suited to a proven Contracts Manager with a strong background working for a recognised residential groundworks contractor.
The Role
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple residential groundworks projects, managing site teams and ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and within budget.
You will take full operational responsibility for a portfolio of sites and play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with housebuilders and clients.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Managing multiple residential groundworks sites across the MidlandsOverseeing Site Managers, Engineers and SupervisorsEnsuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to specificationMonitoring programme performance and driving productivityManaging labour and plant resources across sitesWorking closely with commercial teams on cost control and variationsSupporting project planning and mobilisationAttending client and progress meetingsMaintaining strong relationships with national and regional housebuildersEnsuring quality standards are consistently achievedResolving operational issues and supporting site teamsSupporting the growth and development of operational staff
Requirements (Essential)
This role requires a strong residential groundworks background. Applications without this experience will not be considered.
Candidates must have:
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project ManagerStrong background in residential groundworks for new-build housingExperience working for an established residential groundworks contractorTrack record delivering multiple housing developments simultaneouslyStrong operational and organisational skillsExperience managing Site Managers and EngineersExcellent client-facing skillsStrong knowledge of roads, sewers, drainage and plot worksAbility to manage multiple live projects
Experience working with national housebuildersEngineering or construction-related backgroundSMSTS / CSCS / First AidStrong commercial awarenessStable employment history
