Senior Civil Technologist

Overview

In this role you will advance multi-disciplinary water infrastructure designs, collaborating with a regional team to deliver complex projects. You’ll drive digital deliverables, coordinate with project managers, and mentor junior staff, shaping scalable solutions for public and private clients. The position blends hands-on drafting with leadership in design coordination and QAQC. You’ll work across North America on a diverse project portfolio that prioritizes sustainable water systems. Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D models and drawings for large, multidisciplinary projects using CAD/BIM tools; manage design changes and redlines
• Lead development of engineering digital deliverables (3D models, drawings) including project setup and QAQC coordination
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate drawings with project managers using ACC or ProjectWise
• Design site plans and civil structures (grading, stormwater, utilities, surface improvements) to applicable standards
• Perform earthworks calculations from topographic data and design surfaces
• Design grades, sanitary/storm sewers, and water networks based on rough grades to design standards
• Contribute to preliminary engineering concepts during planning phases
• Prepare as-built drawings after project completion
• Ensure quality control of work and meet project timelines
• Coordinate with CAD/BIM teams and project managers to meet project needs

Key requirements

• Proficiency in Civil 3D
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office
• Experience/understanding of GIS (asset)
• Experience with Microstation & InRoads (asset)
• Experience with ACC and ProjectWise (asset)
• Experience with Autodesk Recap and AutoTurn (asset)
• Effective communication and writing abilities
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work
• Strong work ethic and adaptability
• Experience in preliminary and detailed design of municipal infrastructure
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines
• Regional travel not required
