Global Financial Controller (UK Remote)

Overview

In this role you will lead Turnitin’s global Accounting function, driving strategy, governance, and performance across geographies. You’ll partner with executive leaders to modernize finance systems, ensure compliant operations, and scale processes for growth. You’ll manage risk, audits, and financial reporting while fostering a high-performing, cross-functional team. Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to elevate global Accounting as a value-add center
• Architect scalable finance capability and mentor executive teams
• Build empowered, high-performing accounting teams across pillars
• Drive end-to-end accounting strategy for statutory reporting, payroll, treasury, compliance, and tax
• Establish robust governance and streamlined controls across markets
• Lead risk and compliance programs and coordinate audits with external firms
• Deliver timely financial insights and board reporting for strategic decisions
• Drive process automation and modern finance tooling to optimize controls
• Spearhead M&A integration across regional finance ops and systems
• Lead continuous improvement and performance management to foster a modern, high-engagement culture
• Align team goals with enterprise strategy and promote cross-functional collaboration
• Optimize resource allocation and budgeting to maximize ROI on finance initiatives
• Act as trusted strategic partner to the CFO and steer transformational initiatives
• Evaluate and implement AI tools and emerging technologies to improve finance processes

Key requirements

• Strategic Finance Vision & Digital Transformation experience
• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, with US operations experience
• Bachelor in Accounting or Finance with CPA/CA or equivalent credential
• Deep expertise in US/Global GAAP and ASC revenue recognition across multi-jurisdiction environments
• Strong knowledge of US domestic and international tax accounting principles
• Agile execution capability for prioritizing and delivering complex initiatives
• Influential communication to present concepts to executive leadership
• Cross-functional partnership and business acumen to drive value
