Senior Cost Controller 1

Overview

As an Assistant Cost Controller in VSL UK’s Finance team, you will support cost control, procurement, and invoicing activities across major infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Contract Managers, and Procurement to ensure accurate project cost data and timely payments. The role offers hands-on experience in SAP-based processes, subcontractor administration, and project reporting. This entry-level position helps you develop practical skills in project finance within a global construction group. You will contribute to delivering efficient cost management for infrastructure, industrial, and energy projects across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders in SAP; assist goods receipting and supplier payments
• Support subcontractor contract administration and monthly payment processes; validate payment applications
• Assist with client contract data setup in SAP, invoicing, and variations/amendments
• Support monthly project cost-control activities and preparation of cost reports and forecasts
• Maintain accurate project financial records and assist with audits and financial documentation

Key requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, Business Administration, or related discipline
• Entry-level candidates welcome; relevant experience advantageous
• Experience in finance, cost control, construction, engineering, or project administration is beneficial
• Good analytical and numerical skills; ability to interpret financial records
