Full Stack AI Engineer

Overview

As a Full Stack AI Engineer, you will own the development of internal applications, initially a PHP/Laravel project, using AI coding tools to accelerate delivery. You’ll review AI-generated code for security and quality while shaping AI adoption across a major manufacturing business. The role progresses toward leading AI implementation strategy and projects across the wider organization. It’s a hands-on, onsite role with room to grow into a strategic AI lead, contributing to modernisation and efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities

• Full stack development using AI tools to accelerate delivery
• Lead initial PHP/Laravel project and subsequent internal applications
• Own development, testing and deployment from supplied requirements
• Review and validate AI-generated code for security, correctness and maintainability
• Progress toward broader AI implementation across the business and factory
• Work fully onsite in Scunthorpe (36.5 hours/week)

Key requirements

• Full stack development experience delivering applications independently
• Working knowledge of PHP/Laravel; broader language experience is a plus
• Practical experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot
• Confident reviewing, debugging and testing AI-generated code
• Interest in progressing toward AI implementation and business strategy
• Willingness to work onsite in Scunthorpe and commute as needed
