Job Description:

IT Infrastructure & Security Manager

Location: Buckinghamshire | Hybrid | Upto £75,000

Are you an experienced IT Infrastructure professional who thrives on solving complex challenges, driving change and making a real impact?

We’re working with a major, well-established UK organisation with an extensive national footprint to recruit an IT Infrastructure & Security Manager into its growing technology function.

This isn’t just about keeping the lights on. It’s an opportunity to take ownership of a large, business-critical IT environment, strengthen its security, drive infrastructure improvements and play a key role in shaping how technology supports thousands of people across a complex, fast-paced operation.

The Opportunity

You’ll be stepping into a highly visible role where infrastructure resilience, cybersecurity and operational performance are critical to the success of the business.

Working closely with senior IT leadership, you’ll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, lead and develop a team, and take responsibility for ensuring infrastructure across multiple locations is secure, reliable and fit for the future.

From improving network performance and strengthening security to delivering infrastructure upgrades and transformation projects, you’ll be at the heart of making technology work better for the business.

It’s a role that offers real variety, responsibility and the chance to make a tangible difference.

What Will You Bring?

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical infrastructure expertise with a genuine passion for cybersecurity and leadership.

You’ll have a solid background in enterprise IT infrastructure, with experience across networking, servers, connectivity, firewalls, disaster recovery and security operations.

Just as importantly, you’ll understand what it takes to support a business where technology needs to work around the clock, and where downtime simply isn’t an option.

You’ll be comfortable getting into the technical detail when needed, but equally confident leading people, managing suppliers, influencing stakeholders and driving projects forward.

Experience working within a large, multi-site environment would be particularly valuable, especially across retail, hospitality, logistics or another operationally demanding sector.

Why Is This Opportunity Different?

Scale, complexity and genuine ownership.

You’ll be joining an organisation where IT infrastructure is fundamental to day-to-day operations, giving you the opportunity to work across a diverse technology estate with interesting technical challenges.

You’ll have the chance to strengthen infrastructure and security, contribute to meaningful technology improvements and build relationships across a wider IT function.

This could be an excellent next step for an established Infrastructure Manager looking for greater scope, or a technically strong Infrastructure Lead ready to take on broader responsibility across infrastructure, security and people management.
