Consulting Senior Analyst I

Overview

In this role you will contribute to Dow Jones Energy’s consulting practice by delivering market analysis and strategic guidance in the energy and chemical sectors. You will work with a global team to analyze data across multiple building-block chemicals and related markets. You will apply sector expertise to generate commercial and techno-economic insights for clients. This is a hands-on, collaborative role that focuses on delivering timely, high-impact recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis for consulting projects
• Review market and pricing data from internal databases and publications; perform secondary/desk research
• Apply sector knowledge to deliver commercial and techno-economic recommendations
• Collaborate with cross-functional consulting and research teams to drive project success
• Lead execution of project-specific tasks ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction
• Assist in preparation of project proposals for clients
• Provide commercial/techno-economic insights to projects and participate in team discussions as a stakeholder

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
• Postgraduate degree in science or business management is an advantage
• Experience in a commercial or techno-economic role in energy/refining/petrochemical markets or related consultancy
• Broad understanding of energy and petrochemicals markets, production technologies, and pricing
• Proven track record in analytics and market consultancy
• Strong analytical skills and thorough research capabilities
• Good command of English (written and spoken)
• Experience in writing analytical reports is desirable
• Excellent communication for client interaction and teamwork
• Proficiency in MS Office
