Responsibilities

• Resource planning for Data Scientists to optimize project outcomes
• Coach and develop Data Science Leads across teams
• Support Leads in planning, prioritization, and model delivery
• Maintain high technical standards, code practices, and documentation
• Address capacity, capability, or performance challenges
• Collaborate with Delivery and Engineering to ensure smooth operations
• Shape department-wide strategy, tooling, and hiring plans
• Foster cross-team learning and sharing of best practices
• Escalation point for technical or resourcing issues across teams
• Represent Data Science in cross-departmental discussions
• Promote collaborative, high-performance culture across modelling organization

Key requirements

• Demonstrated success managing Data Science Leads and growing high-performing teams
• Ability to align delivery across multiple projects, sports, or domains
• Strong technical background in model development and deployment
• Advanced programming experience (R/Python/C#/Java)
• Excellent communication and leadership across stakeholders
• Proven hiring, performance, and team development capabilities
• Familiar with cross-functional planning, prioritisation, and capacity management
• Champions collaboration, experimentation, and delivery
• Domain expertise in sports modelling or betting products
• 2+ years managing teams and delivering across multiple modelling projects
