Associate Electrical Design Engineer

An opportunity to take the next step towards Director level, leading a small team and delivering technically challenging, one–off projects within an ambitious building services consultancy.
We are working with a London–based building services consultancy looking to appoint an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to play a key role in its electrical engineering team. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on greater responsibility, lead projects and people, and work towards a Director–level position.
The Role
- Lead electrical design on complex, bespoke building services projects.
- Take responsibility for projects from concept through to detailed design and delivery.
- Manage, mentor and develop a small team of engineers.
- Oversee technical output, design quality and project delivery.
- Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural and architectural teams.
- Attend client meetings and build strong working relationships.
- Provide technical leadership and support across the wider team.
- Help drive standards, processes and the continued growth of the business.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in electrical building services design.
- Proven ability to lead projects and take responsibility for technical delivery.
- Experience managing, mentoring or developing junior engineers.
- Strong knowledge of relevant electrical design standards and regulations.
- Confident communicating with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience delivering complex or technically challenging projects.
- Degree–qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Chartered status, or a clear commitment towards it, would be advantageous.
