Associate – Employment

Overview

In this role you will advise employers on employment law, with a focus on financial services clients. You will handle a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters, including discrimination and breach of contract litigation, and support across jurisdictions. You’ll supervise trainees, contribute to business development, and help deliver client seminars and training. The position sits within the North Employment team, contributing to a culture of practical, commercial problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Handle a busy workload of employment matters for employers, with emphasis on financial services clients
• Work on complex litigation in tribunals and High Court under supervision
• Assist on non-contentious projects such as restructures and TUPE across UK and multiple jurisdictions
• Provide general employment advisory support by phone and email
• Supervise trainees and paralegals; contribute to their development
• Engage in marketing, networking, and business development activities; support client seminars and training
• Contribute to non-fee-earning activities like knowledge sharing and internal training

Key requirements

• 3+ PQE
