Mechanical Fitter

We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to work on a permanent basis in Chorley.

The role is working a 4 day working week – Monday to Thursday.

Salary is c£37500 – 39,950 per annum plus 25 days’ holiday and bank holidays, pension, healthcare etc.

About the Mechanical Fitter role:

• Assemble and modify mechanical equipment using engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carry out quality inspections, functional testing and equipment checks.
• Operate test equipment in line with engineering procedures.
• Prepare completed assemblies for dispatch.
• Support equipment installation and commissioning at customer sites, including UK and overseas travel where required.
• Identify and report faults, quality issues and non-conformances.
• Maintain accurate build records and work closely with engineering, production and project teams.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements for the Mechanical Fitter role:

• Mechanical Engineering qualification, such as City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Time-served apprenticeship.
• Practical experience working with complex mechanical systems.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, specifications and written instructions.
• Strong communication skills and a reliable, self-motivated approach.
• Commitment to quality, teamwork and safe working practices.
