Private Credit Reporter

Overview

In this role you will cover the European private credit secondary market, delivering scoops and thematic coverage that connects private equity, private debt, and advisory communities. You will generate leads, report on GP- and LP-led transactions, and spotlight trends affecting stressed and distressed names. You join a multicultural editorial team that values speed, accuracy, and collaborative reporting. This is an opportunity to shape market understanding and contribute to a fast-moving newsroom with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Break news on LP and GP-led private credit transactions and stressed names
• Support sourcing of deals and expand coverage with colleagues
• Build and maintain relationships with industry contacts across private equity, private credit, and advisory networks
• Identify and report on new trends in private equity and private credit funds
• Collaborate with financial and legal analysts and other reporters

Key requirements

• Previous experience in financial journalism with a track record of scoops
• Passion for breaking news and cultivating relationships
• Excellent interpersonal skills to develop market sources among sophisticated deal makers
• Ability to write clearly under deadline pressure
• Eye for detail and developed analytical/critical thinking
• Self-motivated, multitasking, able to thrive in a fast-paced newsroom
• Strong understanding of private equity, debt capital markets, private credit, leveraged loans, and high yield bonds
• Collaborative and team-oriented in a multicultural environment
