Management Accountant

Overview

You will be a pivotal part of a small central finance team supporting multiple sites and brands during a growth phase. In this role, you will own the preparation of management accounts, KPI packs, and cash flow monitoring, enabling informed decision-making for operations. You will liaise with an external accountant and work closely with the Director to ensure accurate finance data and timely reporting. The role offers hybrid working after a 6‑month on-site probation and opportunities to improve data flow from POS to the ledger. You will influence financial performance across multi-site franchises and brands through disciplined reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) across multiple entities
• Create site and brand-level P&L packs with variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year
• Own weekly and monthly KPI reporting (sales mix, labour %, food cost %, EBITDA by site)
• Monitor cash and working capital, including weekly cash forecasting, settlements, supplier terms, VAT and PAYE
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, debtor/creditor reviews and intercompany accounting
• Support budgeting and rolling forecasts across sales, labour, food, overheads and capex
• Track royalty, marketing levy and franchise fee obligations by brand
• Maintain month-end processes and coordinate with external accountant and auditors
• Improve data flow from POS to the ledger and automate routine reporting

Key requirements

• Multi-site hospitality experience essential; multi-brand/franchised environment advantageous
• ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified, or part-qualified with strong experience
• Proven month-end, reconciliation and management reporting experience
• Strong Excel skills, with experience of POS data and ERP or consolidation tools
• Comfortable in high-volume, low-margin trading models
• Ability to translate numbers into actionable insights for site/operations teams
• Hands-on, organized, and able to work with a Director and external accountant
