Want to build a career designing the equipment at the heart of the UK’s electrical infrastructure?An opportunity has opened with a global electrical manufacturer specialising in MV/HV switchgear, protection & power distribution equipment, joining an established engineering team in Huddersfield.
This isn’t a role where you’ll be expected to arrive knowing every product inside out. We’re looking for engineers with a strong electrical foundation who want to develop specialist knowledge within switchgear design & application engineering.
You’ll work on the technical development of MV power distribution projects, taking customer requirements & translating them into practical engineered solutions across switchgear, protection & control systems, substations & associated distribution equipment.
The RoleDevelop technical designs & application solutions for MV/HV power distribution equipmentProduce & review single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, equipment configurations & technical documentationWork with MV switchgear, circuit breakers, protection relays, CT/VT arrangements & control systemsInterpret customer specifications & translate requirements into engineered solutionsSupport tendering & commercial teams with technical input during bid stagesProvide engineering support throughout project delivery, manufacturing & testingWork closely with customers, project engineers, manufacturing & wider engineering teamsEnsure designs meet relevant technical standards, specifications & project requirementsDevelop specialist product knowledge with xwwtmva structured support from experienced engineers
