Senior Technical Accounting Manager

Overview

In this role you will own the accounting for financial instruments under US GAAP and IFRS, ensuring accuracy and compliance as Wise expands treasury products. You will translate complex accounting into actionable guidance for both Finance and external auditors, and help embed these policies across the business. You will lead cross-functional collaboration to implement new products and update processes, driving reliable financial reporting in a fast-growing fintech. This is a hands-on position with significant impact on regulatory compliance and strategic finance.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting for financial instruments under US GAAP and IFRS
• Document accounting position papers and support product implementation
• Explain accounting to non-finance stakeholders and external auditors
• Collaborate cross-functionally to embed accounting in the business and update policies
• Advise on accounting for new treasury products and services
• Ensure processes and systems reflect accounting requirements
• Lead or support accounting implementation projects
• Adapt to changing business requirements and prioritise accordingly

Key requirements

• Strong knowledge of accounting for financial instruments under US GAAP and IFRS
• Professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
• Experience handling technical accounting for financial instruments
• Experience managing accounting implementation projects
• Ability to work independently and take ownership
• Adaptability and ability to re-prioritise tasks
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
