About Mude

Mude is a functional apparel brand creating innovative clothing solutions that help people wear and manage medical devices more comfortably and discreetly. Starting with insulin pumps, the brand is developing products that combine functionality, thoughtful design and everyday wearability, with plans to expand into areas including ostomy and stoma care.

Since launching, Mude has grown its customer base across the UK, Ireland, Europe and the US, built an engaged community, partnered with leading charities and secured investment to support its next stage of growth.

With new products in development and ambitious international plans, Mude is entering an exciting phase. This is an opportunity to join a growing, purpose-driven business and play a significant role in shaping its brand, marketing strategy and future success.

The Role

Mude is seeking a creative, commercially minded Senior Marketing Lead to take ownership of its marketing function. As the first full-time marketing hire, you will work directly with the founders to develop and deliver the marketing strategy, strengthen brand positioning and drive sustainable business growth.

This is a broad, hands-on role offering genuine autonomy and responsibility. You will oversee activity across multiple marketing channels, manage budgets and external partners, and establish the processes needed to support future growth.

The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between strategic planning and practical execution, with the opportunity to develop and lead a marketing team as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing strategy and brand: Develop and implement marketing plans aligned with business objectives, strengthening brand positioning, messaging and consistency across all customer touchpoints.
  • Growth and customer acquisition: Drive customer acquisition, engagement, conversion and retention through integrated marketing campaigns and channel optimisation.
  • Campaigns and product launches: Plan and deliver campaigns, product launches, photoshoots, events and brand activations.
  • Digital marketing and e-commerce: Oversee social media, content, email marketing, CRM, paid advertising, influencer activity and website performance.
  • Partnerships and PR: Develop relationships with creators, charities, brands and other strategic partners to increase awareness and reach new audiences.
  • Budget and performance management: Manage marketing budgets, monitor key performance indicators and use data to improve effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Marketing operations: Establish campaign calendars, reporting processes and workflows to improve planning, delivery and accountability.
  • External partner management: Identify, brief and manage agencies, freelancers, creators and specialist suppliers.
  • Team development: Build the foundations for a scalable marketing function, with the potential to recruit and lead a team as Mude grows.

About You

You will have approximately 3-5 years of marketing experience, ideally within a consumer-facing, e-commerce, lifestyle, apparel, healthcare or purpose-led business. You may be a Senior Marketing Executive ready to take on greater responsibility or a Marketing Manager looking for an opportunity to shape a growing brand.

You will bring a balance of creativity, commercial awareness and organisational ability, with the confidence to take ownership and deliver results in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience planning and delivering marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Strong understanding of brand development, content marketing and customer engagement.
  • Ability to translate marketing strategies into practical plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets and evaluating campaign performance.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience coordinating external agencies, freelancers, creators or other partners.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with founders and stakeholders.
  • A proactive, adaptable and resourceful approach, with the confidence to work independently.

Desirable Experience

  • Familiarity with Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta Ads Manager or similar marketing platforms.
  • Experience in e-commerce, direct-to-consumer brands, product launches, influencer marketing or partnerships.
  • Understanding of customer retention, conversion optimisation and marketing analytics.
  • Experience working in a startup or scaling business.

You do not need to be an expert in every marketing channel. The key is knowing how to prioritise effectively, identify opportunities, bring in specialist expertise when needed and ensure activity delivers results.

What Mude Offers

  • Salary of £35,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Potential equity opportunity for the right candidate.
  • Annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Workplace pension.
  • Learning and development support.
  • Direct collaboration with the founders and meaningful input into business decisions.
  • Genuine ownership of the marketing function, with the freedom to test ideas and shape the brand.
  • Opportunities to develop professionally and build a marketing team as the business grows.
  • Involvement in creative campaigns, product launches, events, partnerships and international expansion.

Why Join Mude?

This is an opportunity to join Mude at a pivotal stage of its development, with established products, a growing customer community and ambitious plans for future expansion.

You will have the freedom to shape the marketing strategy, influence how the brand connects with customers and build the systems and capabilities needed to support long-term growth.

For an ambitious marketing professional who enjoys combining creativity, commercial thinking and hands-on delivery, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help build a purpose-driven brand with international potential.
