Finance Systems and Projects Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead finance systems strategy and the implementation of a new Finance system within Edge Hill University. You will act as the technical lead for core finance platforms and support broader digital projects across the university. You will ensure secure, reliable, and well-integrated systems that improve financial data, reporting and management information. You will partner with stakeholders to drive fintech transformation and safeguard regulatory alignment, delivering impact through improved processes and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, configuration, integration and development of finance and payment systems; drive the implementation of a new Finance system
• Oversee the transition and delivery of the new system; redesign core financial processes; enhance data reporting and management information
• Ensure security, reliability and alignment of platforms with institutional priorities and regulatory requirements
• Own application lifecycle management, supplier relationships, service performance, and operational risk for the Finance Systems portfolio
• Provide technical leadership and support for finance-related digital projects across the university
• Manage multiple technical projects and prioritize activities in a complex environment
• Maintain strong vendor/supplier relationships and ensure effective third-party delivery

Key requirements

• Experience managing technically complex IT solutions across multiple hardware environments and software platforms
• Recognised expert in enterprise finance systems and digital transformation
• Excellent working knowledge of finance systems or similar business systems
• Practical experience in enterprise application development, configuration, integration and support
• Experience managing and prioritising multiple technical projects in complex service environments
• Experience of supplier and vendor relationship management
