Senior Housing Project Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the development and delivery of high-quality specialist housing to meet current and future needs for vulnerable residents. You will work across Homelessness, Children’s Services and Adult Social Care to secure an adequate housing supply through maintenance, acquisition, adaptation and new delivery. You’ll manage projects from concept to handover, innovate within budget, and coordinate with external consultants, Registered Providers and funders to achieve timely, compliant outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a steady pipeline of specialist housing through maintenance, acquisition, adaptation, enhancement or direct delivery
• Lead project delivery from concept and business case through to handover
• Procure and manage external consultants; coordinate with Council officers, Registered Providers and funders
• Collaborate with Homelessness, Children’s Services and Adult Social Care to meet accommodation needs
• Develop and manage business cases within strict budgets; drive innovative solutions to project outcomes
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, to the required standard and within budget
• Engage with elected members and funders (e.g., Homes England, Department for Education) for project approvals and support
• Support procurement and partnership arrangements with Registered Providers to deliver housing stock

Key requirements

• experience in development management and housing project delivery

• strong stakeholder management across multiple Council directorates and partners
• budget management and cost-control skills
• ability to develop business cases and deliver value within constraints
• knowledge of working with Registered Providers and government funders (e.g., Homes England) is advantageous
