Job Description Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer – Commercial Plumber & Drainage Specialist n Location: Central London & Greater London (Head Office: Hatfield, Hertfordshire) n Salary: £50,000 per annum n Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent n About the Drainage Engineer Role n We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer to join our expanding team as a dedicated Commercial Plumber and Drainage expert. Specialising in the high-demand hospitality sector, this is a pivotal, hands-on role where you will serve as the primary technical authority on all commercial plumbing and drainage operations. n As our Lead Engineer, you will work directly alongside the Managing Director as their trusted right-hand technical lead. You will oversee site operations, troubleshoot complex drainage and plumbing infrastructure, and lead engineering solutions from initial inspection through to full project sign-off. n Drainage Engineer Key Responsibilities n • Technical Leadership: Act as the Senior Engineer on-site, providing expert technical guidance, mentorship, and support to assistant engineers and field technicians. n • Project Delivery: Lead and execute complex commercial plumber and drainage projects throughout Central London and Greater London. n • Diagnostics & Fault Finding: Apply advanced diagnostic techniques to resolve challenging drainage blockages, pipework failures, and heavy-duty commercial plumbing issues. n • Surveying & Estimating: Perform detailed site surveys for drainage and plumbing works, scoping out requirements and preparing accurate cost estimations and quotations. n • Project Management: Manage projects end-to-end as the Lead Engineer , ensuring all drainage and plumbing interventions meet statutory compliance, health & safety standards, and strict quality criteria. n • Reporting & Logistics: Draft clear technical reports post-inspection and coordinate closely with our Hatfield head office to align schedules, drainage equipment, and materials. n Drainage Engineer Essential Requirements n • Proven Experience: Extensive track record operating as a Commercial Plumber , Drainage Specialist, Senior Engineer , or Lead Engineer . n • Sector Expertise: Strong background delivering commercial plumbing and drainage solutions within the hospitality industry (hotels, restaurants, bars, and commercial kitchens). n • Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of commercial drainage systems, highpressure water jetting, CCTV surveys, plant rooms, and commercial sanitary systems. n • Estimation & Scoping: Demonstrated ability as a Senior Engineer to independently inspect, price, quote, and deliver drainage and plumbing jobs. n • Communication & Reporting: Professional report-writing skills to communicate technical drainage and plumbing findings to clients and management clearly. n • Work Ethic & History: Stable employment history demonstrating long-term commitment as a Lead Engineer or Commercial Plumber . n • Licence: Full UK Driving Licence. n What We Offer n • Salary: £50,000 per annum n • Contract: Permanent, full-time position n • Vehicle & Tools: Fully equipped company vehicle fitted with drainage and commercial plumbing tools, plus company phone n • Location: Key focus on Central & Greater London projects with support from our Hatfield office n • Benefits: Pension contribution, paid annual leave, and genuine progression opportunities into higher management for the right Senior Engineer n Drainage Engineer Benefits: n •Company car n •Company pension n •Free or subsidised travel n •On-site parking n n JBRP1_UKTJ
