Job Description An established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in the Ramsgate area. n The business delivers a varied portfolio of civil engineering projects, and this position would suit a Quantity Surveyor with previous experience working within a civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure environment. n Experience across heavy civils, groundworks, earthworks, rail or sea defence projects would be particularly relevant. Quantity Surveyor – The Rolen Working closely with the operational and commercial teams, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account. n Responsibilities will include: n n n Preparation and submission of applications for payment and variations n n Preparation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and cost/value forecasts n n Reviewing site records and documentation to support variations, additional payments and claims n n Procurement and negotiation of subcontractor and material packages n n Commercial management of subcontractors through to final account n n Preparation of forward work schedules and cash flow forecasts n n Ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are issued correctly and on time n n Monitoring payments and working closely with the accounts team n n Providing commercial support to site and contracts management teams n n Working alongside estimating and procurement teams n n Liaising directly with clients on commercial matters and developing strong working relationships n Quantity Surveyor – Requirementsn The ideal candidate will have previous Quantity Surveying experience within civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure. n You could currently be working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to progress or an established Quantity Surveyor looking for a new long-term opportunity. n Experience within any of the following would be advantageous: n Groundworks | Heavy Civils | Earthworks | Rail | Sea Defence | Infrastructure n You should be commercially aware, comfortable dealing with subcontractors and clients, and confident managing the commercial requirements of projects with support from the wider team.
