Landscape Associate Technical Director

Overview

As part of Arcadis’ Landscape, Masterplanning and Urbanism (LMU) team, you will lead LVIA/TVIA projects and related studies, shaping outcomes for high-profile clients. You’ll work across residential, transport, and energy sectors, collaborating with environmental and design disciplines in a consultancy setting. The role offers exposure to large-scale schemes and a diverse portfolio, with a focus on delivering sustainable, high-quality reports. You’ll join a collaborative culture that values sustainability and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and delivery of LVIA/TVIA studies and landscape character assessments
• Manage and contribute to multi-disciplinary projects with environmental and built environment teams
• Direct client engagement and broad stakeholder involvement during LVIA/TVIA processes
• Supervise staff and manage project resources, including commercial aspects
• Provide guidance on CP/DCO applications and examination processes (preferred) and potentially act as expert witness
• Produce high-quality landscape and environmental reports and support staff development
• Foster staff wellbeing and career progression within the team

Key requirements

• Extensive experience delivering LVIA/TVIA across sectors (residential, transport, energy infrastructure)
• Proven client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills
• Leadership experience in managing staff and project resources in a consultancy
• Chartered membership with Landscape Institute
• UK driving licence (category B) and good post-qualification driving experience
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; BIM and ProjectWise are desirable
