Technical Director EIA

Overview

As Technical Director for EIA, you will lead Arcadis’ environmental assessment team to deliver high-quality projects for diverse clients. You’ll guide multi-disciplinary workstreams, drive client satisfaction, and shape bidding and delivery strategies. You’ll act as a senior leader within the Environmental Planning group, building relationships across Arcadis and with external partners. This role offers the opportunity to influence industry practice and advance Arcadis’ sustainability-focused objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery with emphasis on client satisfaction, clear governance, and cross-team collaboration
• Select and mentor project teams, ensuring alignment with strategy, client brief, and objectives
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to agree objectives and working protocols
• Foster cross-disciplinary cooperation and identify cross-sell and trade-up opportunities
• Lead identification and pursuit of new work through high-quality bids
• Coach and develop specialists to support their professional growth
• Develop deep understanding of Arcadis services and client sector to enhance credibility
• Stay updated on industry developments and enhance professional profile at area level
• Champion Arcadis policies and demonstrate accountability under the General Business Principles

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
• Chartered status or equivalent, preferably with ISEP or equivalent
• Strong consulting skills including project management and senior-level client relationship management
• Extensive experience managing executive-level business relationships
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong time management skills
• Effective technical, project management, client relationship management and commercial skills
• Excellent understanding and practice of Environmental, Safety and Risk Management including Health, Safety and Wellbeing leadership
