Preschool Room Leader / Third in Charge

Nest Embassy Gardens is our newest nursery, at 14 New Union Square, Nine Elms, SW11, for children from 6 months to 5 years. We’re looking for a Preschool Room Leader who will also be Third in Charge: someone who leads our oldest children towards school with confidence, supports the Manager and Deputy, and deputises when the Manager or Deputy is away.

What you’ll do

• Lead the Preschool Room day to day, including the room routine, staff deployment and ratios
• Plan and deliver a school-readiness curriculum in line with the EYFS, and keep observations and progress records up to date
• Coach and support the practitioners in your room
• As Third in Charge, support the Manager and Deputy, and deputise when the Manager or Deputy is away
• Build strong, trusting relationships with parents, and support children’s transitions to school
• Take part in our enrichment programme, including Spanish, Mandarin, ballet and STEAM

What we’re looking for

• A Level 3 early years qualification or above
• Experience leading a room, ideally with pre-school children
• Sound knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted expectations
• Confidence to deputise when the Manager or Deputy is away
• A passion for high-quality childcare, and the drive to help shape a brand-new nursery
