Inpatient Veterinary Nurse – Bolton

This small animal hospital is looking for an experienced and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a strong interest in medical nursing to join its skilled hospital team.

  • The role focuses on inpatient care across both the first-opinion and referral services, providing an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys managing complex cases and supporting patients throughout their treatment and recovery.
  • Working alongside a talented team of experienced RVNs, the successful candidate will take a leading role in delivering high standards of nursing care.
  • They will need to be confident managing Continuous Rate Infusions (CRIs), indwelling catheters and a varied caseload of complex medical and surgical patients.
  • Although the position is primarily focused on inpatients and emergency and critical care (ECC), there may also be occasions when the nurse is required to monitor anaesthetics.
  • Applicants must be RCVS-registered and have excellent clinical standards, strong communication skills and the ability to remain effective in a busy, high-pressure hospital environment.
  • An additional qualification or certificate in ECC or medical nursing would be advantageous.

The position follows a four-on, four-off rota, with shifts running from 8am to 8:30pm and an average working week of 40.25 hours.

  • six weeks of annual leave, including bank holidays
  • funded CPD
  • access to 52 weeks of sickness benefit
  • enhanced maternity and paternity provisions
  • a 4% contributory pension scheme
  • paid RCVS and VDS fees
  • an electric car scheme

This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN with a passion for inpatient nursing and complex medical cases to develop their expertise within a supportive hospital environment committed to accessible veterinary care.
