Concierge Officer – Deliver Exceptional Service at the Heart of Our Community
Are you passionate about customer service and creating a welcoming, safe and well-managed environment for residents? We’re looking for a Concierge Officer to join our team at one of Peabody’s flagship mixed-tenure developments, where you’ll be the first point of contact for residents, visitors and contractors.
This is a varied, customer-facing role where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in delivering an outstanding resident experience while supporting the security, safety and smooth day-to-day operation of the development.
What you’ll be doing
- Welcome residents, visitors and contractors, providing a friendly and professional front-of-house service.
- Manage resident enquiries in person, by phone and via email, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
- Process deliveries and parcels, maintaining accurate records and notifying residents promptly.
- Programme and issue access control fobs, process resident payments and manage key control procedures.
- Conduct regular patrols of the development, identifying and reporting maintenance, cleaning, security and health & safety concerns.
- Monitor CCTV systems and respond appropriately to incidents or suspicious activity.
- Support fire safety, emergency procedures and building security measures.
- Maintain accurate records, provide detailed handovers between shifts and complete administrative tasks such as logging repairs and incidents.
- Build positive relationships with residents, colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders.
What you’ll bring
- Previous experience in a concierge, front-of-house, reception, customer service or similar resident-facing role.
- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and the confidence to take ownership of issues.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to remain calm, professional and courteous when dealing with challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work weekends, shift patterns and provide additional cover when required.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service in a front-facing environment.
- Strong administrative and multitasking skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures.
- Understanding of the importance of health and safety, security and resident wellbeing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Why Join Us?
When you join Peabody, you’re joining a team guided by our values:
Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together.
You’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to residents every day while working within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Interviews will be in person on Tuesday 3rd November on MS Teams.
- This is a site-based role within a residential development.
- The successful candidate will be required to work a rota that may include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- Occasional physical duties, including parcel handling and site patrols, form part of the role.
- Flexibility to provide additional cover for annual leave or sickness is required.
- You must have the right to work in the UK. Peabody is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
