Partner – Cyber & Data Risk

Overview

As a Partner, you will build and lead a dedicated cyber insurance offering within a well-resourced UK law firm. You will advise insurers and insureds on incident response, data breach and privacy, ransomware and extortion, business interruption, and related coverage disputes, with regulatory exposure and third-party litigation in view. The role offers scope to shape market positioning and to leverage a broader platform and competitive pricing. You will work to grow client relationships and cross-practice collaboration to deliver a comprehensive service. This is an opportunity to lead a high-impact practice at the intersection of insurance and cyber risk.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the cyber insurance practice within the firm
• Advise insurers and insureds on incident response, data breach/Privacy, ransomware/extortion, BI and systems failure, and coverage disputes
• Address regulatory exposure and third-party litigation tied to cyber events
• Shape market positioning and growth strategy for the offering
• Develop cross-practice relationships and leverage broader firm capabilities
• Grow client relationships and market visibility to scale the practice
• Collaborate with corporate, regulatory, employment, technology, and commercial disputes teams to expand opportunities

Key requirements

• Established, portable cyber/insurance practice of approximately 400,000 to 750,000
• Currently at Partner or Legal Director level
• In a firm with a recognized insurance or cyber offering
• Strong client relationships and market visibility
• Commercial appetite to grow the practice on a platform with broader capability and competitive rate structure
