Day Shift HGV Technician

Job Title: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter – Days

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 OTE

Shift: Days – Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm, plus every other Saturday at time and a half

Type: Permanent

Location: Blaydon

We are looking for a HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter to join the day shift at our client’s Blaydon workshop, a long-established commercial vehicle dealership group.

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter Job Responsibilities:

• Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing on trucks and trailers.
• Fast and accurate diagnostics and fault finding using diagnostic tools.
• Mechanical and electrical repairs, working independently.
• Vehicle inspections and compliance checks (MOT, tacho, etc.).
• Final checks on completed work.

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter Qualifications and Requirements:

• Time-served HGV Technician or equivalent (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 preferred)
• Proven experience repairing and maintaining trucks and components
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Own tools preferred
• Valid driving licence
