1:1 SEN TA

Overview

You will support a child on a 1:1 basis, working closely with the class teacher to enable inclusive participation and progress. The role suits those who are passionate about helping children, including those with additional needs, and who are eager to learn in a supportive environment. You’ll adapt your approach, collaborate with staff, and contribute to safeguarding and inclusive education. This is a warm, growth-focused entry path with formal training and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil alongside the class teacher
• Foster a calm, positive, and reassuring environment
• Collaborate with teaching and support staff to plan and deliver activities
• Adapt support style to meet individual needs and promote progress
• Help the pupil integrate into class activities and participate with peers
• Develop knowledge of the pupil’s needs and consult SENCo/class teacher/ outside agencies as needed
• Provide positive reinforcement and work effectively as part of a team
• Engage in safeguarding and training requirements as part of role
