Associate Director of Knowledge Management, Senior KM Counsel – Finance

Overview

In this role you lead and develop the KM team within the Banking & Private Credit, Private Equity Finance, Restructuring, and Structured Finance practice groups. You shape and execute KM strategy, align workflows with practice priorities, and ensure resources meet demand. You’ll collaborate with Practice Group Chairs and IT-led initiatives, driving data-driven insights and AI-enabled processes to streamline deal analysis. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role in a global law firm with hybrid work options.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the KM team assigned to the Practice Group (KM Counsel and KM Lawyers) and support their growth
• Develop and oversee the KM involvement framework for the Practice Group, including workflow allocation and recruitment recommendations
• Distill and translate internal deal datasets into market insights for internal and external use
• Monitor deal landscape and emerging trends, and develop materials for practice leadership, clients, and prospects
• Collaborate with Technology & IS leadership and the Legal Innovation team to implement AI-based workflows for extracting and analyzing provisions from deals and documents

Key requirements

• JD or its equivalent
• Admission to at least one US State Bar or other operating jurisdiction
• Progressively responsible practice management experience in a legal or professional services environment
• Experience in a management role
• Experience as a practicing attorney with a leading international law firm, with significant experience in finance transactions

• Strategic thinking and ability to quickly grasp practice group strategy
• Strong collaboration and mentorship capabilities
• Ability to understand a diverse set of services within a practice group and KM team
• AI-based workflow development and deployment
