CS&A Responsible Engineer

Overview

In this role, you provide technical accountability for CS&A engineering within regulated, safety-critical environments, guiding governance and assurance across the project lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, regulators, and assurance bodies to ensure safety, compliance and fitness for purpose. Your leadership helps shape robust safety culture and satisfies SR0698/ED21-aligned requirements at scale. This is a chance to influence major nuclear or high-hazard projects and drive sound engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong CS&A background in regulated safety-critical settings
• Exercise technical accountability and decisive engineering leadership
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and safety requirements
• Establish governance, assurance and verification processes
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams and resolve complex technical issues
• Interface with project teams, regulators and assurance bodies
• Promote a strong safety, quality and compliance culture

Key requirements

• Degree in CS&A or related engineering discipline
• Extensive CS&A experience suitable for a Responsible Engineer role
• Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) with a recognized institution
• Able to meet security clearance and site access requirements
• SQEP aligned with SR0698 and ED21 standards
• Experience in governance and gated processes
