Overview

Join Intact Insurance as a Commercial Underwriter in Birmingham. You will underwrite and negotiate Property & Casualty business within your authority, while building strong broker relationships. You’ll apply pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth, and collaborate with colleagues to improve underwriting practices. You will also represent the brand at broker meetings, industry events, and field visits, and contribute to process improvements. • Underwrite and negotiate new and/or existing Property & Casualty business within your authority
• Build and maintain broker relationships through regular engagement
• Apply pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth
• Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and improve underwriting practices
• Contribute to process improvements and support broker team ideas
• Represent the brand at broker meetings, industry events and field visits as needed

Key requirements

• Experience of Property & Casualty from an underwriting or broker background
• A sharp eye for detail and a head for strategy
• Relationships with Brokers in the Midlands region would be beneficial
• Excellent communication skills
