Associate Director – Drainage

Overview

In this role you will lead hydraulic design and technical review of stormwater and drainage systems for major projects, ensuring practical, buildable and robust outcomes. You’ll steer hydrologic/hydraulic modelling, provide design leadership, and guide project teams from planning to construction support. You’ll engage clients and contribute to the growth of the local drainage/water resources capability. This is a chance to shape critical infrastructure and work within a global, mission-driven firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic assessment and design of stormwater and drainage for major transport, defence and energy projects
• Provide technical leadership in pit-and-pipe, open-channel, culvert, detention and treatment systems, and flood conveyance infrastructure
• Oversee hydrologic/hydraulic modelling and integrate results into design
• Review and approve technical calculations, models, drawings, reports and specs
• Advise on flood risk, drainage strategy, network performance, and resilience
• Support delivery from planning through detailed design and construction
• Act as senior technical reviewer and mentor to engineers
• Support client engagement, work winning and proposals in Perth market
• Contribute to growth of local drainage and water resources capability

Key requirements

• 15+ years of post-graduate experience
• Experience planning, assessing and designing stormwater and drainage networks
• Strong capability in stormwater hydraulics for underground and surface systems
• Experience delivering major infrastructure projects in a consulting or multidisciplinary environment
• Ability to provide technical leadership, design review and mentoring
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and stakeholders
• Commercial awareness and project delivery contribution
