Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

As SME, you provide strategic expertise to manage technical and business services in your specialist area, shaping transitional and ongoing support to align with IT architecture strategy. You lead the creation and governance of technical standards to sustain a stable environment and resolve production incidents to meet SLAs. You support Architecture, Development and Support teams while coaching and mentoring colleagues. This role blends hands-on problem solving with process improvement in a hybrid, cross-site setting.

Responsibilities

• Govern technical standards documentation and governance to maintain stability
• oversee transition and ongoing support of solutions to meet business requirements and IT strategy
• troubleshoot production incidents and ensure BAU services meet SLAs
• assist Architecture, Development and Support teams in implementing and supporting solutions
• coach, mentor, plan, supervise and train team members
• participate in cross-site collaboration and travel as needed
• support flexible working and out-of-hours duties as required

Key requirements

• Extensive Globalscape EFT expertise
• In-depth experience of Windows server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services)
• Familiarity with ITIL service management framework and change control procedures
• Agile working practices
• Proactive approach to process improvement and willingness to learn new systems
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Flexibility for out-of-hours support on a rota basis
• Experience with ITSM tools such as JIRA is helpful
