ICT Business Relationship Manager

Overview

In this role you will drive digital change across council services to improve resident and staff experiences. You’ll work within the Digital Transformation & Programmes Team to design better customer journeys, enable modern digital services, and deliver major programmes. The work focuses on delivering tangible public service improvements through data, automation, and innovative technology, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and governance. This is a chance to shape how Sheffield’s digital services support communities and frontline staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of digital change initiatives across the Council
• Collaborate with enabling services to improve customer journeys and access to services
• Deliver outcomes through digital self-service, automation, and data-driven decision-making
• Contribute to programme and project management within ICT, including governance and assurance
• Support business systems modernisation and improved contract/licence management
• Contribute to cyber security, infrastructure, and reliability of digital platforms
• Promote digital skills and adoption among colleagues to realise benefits
• Engage with stakeholders to align digital initiatives with city priorities

Key requirements

• Experience in ICT programme and project management
• Knowledge of digital transformation in the public sector (local government preferred)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management
• Understanding of data platforms, governance, and analytics
• Ability to manage complex programmes and ensure delivery against outcomes
• Awareness of cyber security and infrastructure considerations
