Staff Hardware AI Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will build AI-powered automation to boost efficiency for Arm’s hardware design and verification engineers, shortening cycle times. You will blend deep hardware domain knowledge with AI tooling and partner with Architects to deploy scalable AI methods across engineering workflows. You’ll prototype and evaluate AI-enabled flows, driving adoption through demos and practical guides. This position sits in the PE AI team, focused on making engineering productivity smarter and more connected to real-world workloads.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-based solutions for Hardware Design & Verification automation
• Curate and build solutions leveraging OpenAI Codex and tool integrations (simulation flows, log analysis, code review/refactor support)
• Collaborate with Arm Engineering teams to translate real struggles into clear requirements
• Create quick prototypes, evaluate EDA AI tools, and quantify impact
• Lead adoption initiatives through demos, workshops, and onboarding guides

Key requirements

• Hands-on experience with RTL design and verification methodologies
• Experience with at least one major EDA vendor toolset
• AI tooling fluency for engineering automation (prompt design/iteration, structured outputs)
• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues in real environments
• Clear written communication to turn ambiguous input into actionable plans
