Overview

Senior Banking & Finance Solicitor to advise on high‑value, cross‑border financing for banks, lenders, corporates and financial institutions. You will manage transactions end‑to‑end, supervise junior lawyers, and nurture client relationships within a collaborative, forward‑looking team. The role covers a broad range of lending, acquisition/ leveraged finance, real estate finance, project finance, and refinancing work. You’ll operate across diverse sectors, shaping complex financings and intercreditor arrangements in a leading Belfast practice.

Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of local and cross‑border financing transactions
• Manage transactions and supervise junior lawyers
• Maintain strong client relationships
• Support corporate lending (bilateral and syndicated), acquisition and leveraged finance, real estate finance, project finance, refinancing and restructuring
• Draft and negotiate security documentation and intercreditor arrangements
• Advise banks, alternative lenders and borrowers
• develop business with leading banks and FS entities

Key requirements

• 5+ years’ PQE in banking and finance
• NI or E&W qualified, ideally dual qualified
• Strong technical expertise across finance transactions
• Experience at a recognised law firm or in‑house financial institution
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to manage matters independently and as part of a team
• Commercially minded with strong client‑facing skills
• Experience supervising junior team members is beneficial but not essential
