Liquid Transport Planner

Overview

As Liquid Transport Planner, you coordinate the distribution of finished products from the UK site to Barry Callebaut customers across the UK and EU. You’ll bridge Operations, Customer Care and Customers to ensure smooth, data-driven transport planning. You drive supplier performance, tanker optimization and cost control while maintaining compliant loading, invoicing and documentation. This role offers impact across supply chain efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage supplier relationships and performance using shared data, reviews and KPIs
• Lead supplier relations and day-to-day management, development and action plans
• Monitor inbound deliveries and transport providers; assess synergies with outbound deliveries with third-party contractors
• Ensure contractors have licenses and certifications; coordinate live loading schedules with planning, operators and contractors
• Maximize tanker payload, minimize waiting times and related extra costs
• Reinforce SAP processes (dispatch, picking, transport master data) and perform retrospective data housekeeping
• Support verification and processing of transport invoices in SAP
• Manage export documentation for liquid exports
• Oversee customer site surveys with third-party contractors
• Review product matrix at least every six months and track KPI targets (Payload, OTIF, costs, supplier performance)
• Report to Supply Chain and BC Leadership; reallocate waiting time costs via Customer Care
• Handle ad hoc processes or projects to ensure effective supply chain operation

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent in logistics/planning
• 3+ years’ experience in transport planning or replenishment
• Excellent Excel skills; SAP knowledge; familiarity with planning tools (APO, OMP preferred)
• SAP Production knowledge; MS Office proficiency
• Understanding of S&OP/IBP processes
• Experience managing 3PLs
• Strong understanding of supply chain/cost drivers
• Ability to travel within UK & Western Europe
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
