Internal Audit Senior Manager

Overview

In this role, you will lead the Internal Audit function for Wise Assets, guiding governance, risk management, and internal controls. You’ll oversee audits, develop the plan, and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes. The position emphasizes data-driven audit techniques and continuous monitoring in a fast-growing, fintech environment. You’ll shape the IA approach as the team scales and interacts with multiple stakeholders across locations. This is a chance to drive meaningful improvements in a dynamic, mission-driven company.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of internal audits for Wise Assets portfolio
• Develop audit plan and risk assessment activities
• Plan, assign, and supervise team activities and ensure delivery of audit engagements
• Build and support a strong internal audit team
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and measure effectiveness
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
• Travel as needed to meet objectives

Key requirements

• 8+ years of experience in assurance, risk or control roles in investment management and services
• Experience leading collaboration projects with internal and external teams
• Experience in regulated, fintech or financial services environments
• Working knowledge of UK/EU regulations relevant to payments and financial services (MIFIR, COBS, IFR, AML/CFT)
• Independent, autonomous work style with strong judgment and decision-making
• Strong coordination skills and ability to hold teams accountable for deadlines
• Data analytics experience preferred and used in decision making
• Strong communication skills, able to tailor messaging to audiences
• Professional qualification: CPA/ACA/ACCA/CIA/CISA
