Full-stack AI Engineer

Overview

In this role you will help scale an AI-powered financial crime investigation platform that supports compliance teams. You will own end-to-end features across the stack, mentor teammates, and shape the technical direction. You’ll work at the intersection of AI/ML, fintech, and compliance to deliver production AI systems that handle large-scale investigations. Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver end-to-end features across React frontend and FastAPI backend
• Design AI agent workflows using LangGraph for automation, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent orchestration
• Lead complex features from design to production and break down ambiguous problems
• Integrate data sources (internal APIs, LexisNexis, data warehouse) with robust error handling
• Improve platform reliability through monitoring, alerts, and performance optimizations for AI systems
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers via code reviews, pairing, and guidance
• Shape engineering practices including architecture decisions, coding standards, and team processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Compliance, and other engineering teams to deliver solutions

Key requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong React + TypeScript skills with architectural capability
• Strong Python backend experience (FastAPI, Django, or Flask) with async programming and clean architecture
• System design skills for scalable, maintainable systems
• API design expertise (REST, WebSockets/SSE) and distributed systems understanding
• Database proficiency in SQL and NoSQL (DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch) including data modeling
• Testing mindset with emphasis on quality across the team
• Ownership mentality from idea to production
• Strong communication and ability to document clearly
