AI/ML Researcher

Overview

You will join the Knowledge and Semantics team to drive novel AI research in defence, security, and commercial domains. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to develop ML solutions, publish and present findings, and prototype impactful demos. The role blends academic rigor with practical application, connecting with academic and SME partners and customer-focused projects. Responsibilities

• Propose and lead novel research in given topic areas
• Lead technical delivery of small project teams
• Prepare and deliver technical reports, proposals and supporting material
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrators
• Take ownership of tasks in projects and deliver to high standards
• Present results to technical and non-technical audiences

Key requirements

• PhD in a relevant topic
• Experience with Python software development
• Experience with ML frameworks TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Experience with LLMs, knowledge graphs, or graph machine learning
• Experience applying NLP/IR techniques and transformer-based models is desirable
• Experience with graph databases and graph algorithms; familiarity with graph ML tasks
