Senior Security Infrastructure & Traffic Operations Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead campus security across the NEC Campus, safeguarding people and operations. You will manage security infrastructure and teams, ensuring proportionate and effective security for events and day-to-day operations. You will drive governance, training, and collaboration with partners and emergency services, shaping risk-based security strategies. Responsibilities

• Lead and line manage the Campus Security team (Control Room Operators, event security and traffic teams) for coordinated, seamless event delivery.
• Act as senior security lead for the NEC Campus, supporting stakeholders, tenants and partners.
• Oversee financial and operational performance across security and traffic functions.
• Promote cross-team collaboration with NEC contract and soft services colleagues.
• Contribute to security boards and provide timely reporting.
• Provide visible security leadership at high-profile events across the campus.
• Develop and deliver campus-wide training and exercising with key security stakeholders.
• Build relationships with local policing, CTSAs and other security partners.
• Ensure direct reports operate within security plans, governance, and policies.
• Maintain safeguarding as a core element of all security operations.
• Share best practices and support continuous security improvements.

Key requirements

• SIA Door Supervisor licence/badge
• SIA CCTV licence/badge
• Level 4 Spectator Safety qualification or working towards it
• IOSH Health & Safety qualification or equivalent
• Experience in control room operations and CCTV/communications/incident response
• Experience in events, sports or venue environments
• Experience managing security in high-footfall settings
• Experience of complex traffic management for events
