Mid/Senior Electrical Designer

Overview

As a Mid/Senior Electrical Designer, you will drive electrical design across challenging port-related infrastructure projects for an international engineering consultancy. You will work within the Mechanical and Electrical division, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver feasible, detailed designs and robust technical documentation. You will support design assurance, handle technical reviews, and assist during commissioning from a design perspective, contributing to a global project portfolio. This role offers hands-on impact on large-scale, heavy-duty infrastructure while working in an international, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce and oversee feasibility studies, detailed designs, calculations and technical documentation
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary design teams
• Support clients during implementation, including design assurance and technical reviews
• Respond to site queries and contribute to testing/commissioning from a design perspective
• Work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
• Manage responsibilities across multiple project stages

Key requirements

• Experience in electrical design, ideally in ports/harbours/container terminals
• Strong understanding of LV/HV distribution, utility networks, resilience strategies
• Proficiency with design software Amtech/Trimble, ETAP, Dialux, AutoCAD, Revit
• Experience producing technical calculations, reports and design documentation
• Strong communication skills and proactive approach
• Ability to manage multiple project stages
• Electrical Engineering degree is desirable but not essential
