BIM Manager

Overview

In this role you drive digital information delivery for highway, rail and utilities infrastructure projects within a leading consultancy. You own BIM processes, enforce ISO 19650, and coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliant, high-quality models. You will lead BEP/EIR activities, manage CDE workflows, and guide junior staff while representing the team in design reviews. This position offers exposure to diverse projects and opportunities to shape BIM standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary BIM contact for clients and stakeholders
• Lead BEP development and EIR/BEP reviews
• Represent the team in workshops and design reviews
• Manage CDE workflows and document control (Bentley ProjectWise)
• Oversee model coordination and federated model management using Autodesk tools (Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, ACC)
• Ensure ISO 19650 compliance across project teams and supply chains
• Contribute to internal BIM standards and mentor junior staff
• Lead projects from inception to handover

Key requirements

• BIM proficiency in infrastructure sectors (highways, rail, utilities, water)
• Strong understanding of the UK BIM Framework
• Experience managing client relationships and project deliverables with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Autodesk tools (Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, ACC)
• Experience with Bentley ProjectWise and Bentley authoring tools
• Exceptional communication and proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Professional accreditation (ICE, RICS, CIAT, or BIM certification) desirable but not essential
